Peel and wash the potatoes and carrots, then cut into small 1cm cubes. Cut the chicken breast into small pieces. Put the meat and vegetables in the steamer basket. Pour water into the tank (level 3) and start the cooking process. Put the food in the blender bowl, add the oil and some of the cooking liquid to bring to the desired consistency and blend. Add the cumin and blend again.

L’astuce cuisine

In the middle of winter the carrots should be peeled. In spring, when we have young carrots, we can just scrape them. But that is … some time off …

Morocco inspires this dish bringing together carrot, cumin and olive oil. The spice here adds flavour to a dish which may appear rather insipid to our adult taste, since the meat does not have a lot of taste and infant’s dishes should not be salty. Indeed, their kidney system is not sufficiently mature to deal with added salt. If this dish does not appeal to your baby, remove the cumin: your baby is perhaps not ready for a flavour that is a little more pronounced. You will try later … Feeding an infant is a game of patience and we need to present the same dishes several times so that the child finally accepts them.
