Until now, your baby drank either maternal or formula milk. Up until now, life was simple, baby drank whatever he needed of a product which was perfectly balanced for his growth. This was until the 5th month when nutritional variety looms. But don’t panic! Béaba is here to help you in your first steps and with his first tastes. It is a matter of introducing vegetables to your baby, then fruit a little later.

In practice:

Your baby is drinking 4 bottles of milk.

If needed, because the bottle of milk isn’t satisfying enough, you can add 1 to 2 teaspoons of gluten-free baby cereal into the bottle. He is beginning to need starch which is normal. As well as helping him to grow, this also helps him to sleep.

Vegetable wise, start by introducing one vegetable at a time. In this way, if your baby is allergic to a new food, you will know which one. Choose the lunchtime bottle to start introducing variety as this enables you to monitor the baby’s reactions in the hours following ingestion. You can also give him spoonfuls while still giving him a bottle afterwards.

Concerning fruit, 15 days after introducing vegetables, at lunchtime or in the afternoon, let him discover one fruit at a time, for the same reasons as for vegetables. Increase the quantity progressively. This is where the Béaba multi-portions come in useful as depending on the evolution of baby’s needs, you can defrost tiny portions.
